The Art and Christianity Enquiry (ACE) invites entries for its 2007
Award for Art in a Religious Context. The Award is being presented in
association with the Michael Marks Charitable Trust.
The judging panel includes:
- Marjorie Allthorpe-Guyton (chair) - former Director, Visual Arts,
National Office of the Arts Council of England
- Susan Hiller - artist
- Ian Hunt - Deputy Editor, Art Monthly
- Christopher Irvine - Canon Librarian, Canterbury Cathedral
- Michael Stanley - Director, Milton Keynes Gallery
- Gilane Tawadros - Founder and former director,
Institute of International Visual Arts
Artworks in any medium sited within a building or grounds of an active
faith community (of any major world religion) may be submitted. The
artwork must have been created in the UK between April 2002 and
September 2007. Temporary and permanent commissions are eligible. The
deadline for entries is 7 September 2007.

Mel Howse specialises in the design and production of
architectural stained glass for places of worship. She has considerable
experience in designing and interpreting given religious beliefs,
biblical themes and personal ideas, in an individual and sympathetic
style.
Mel is also a member of Chichester Diocesan Advisory Committee.
